Hattie Campbell Angus(1917-2007)

Hattie Campbell Angus, 90, of Forest, died on Tuesday, November 13, 2007, at her residence. Born August 16, 1917, in Nelson County, she was a daughter of the late Rosetta Mays Campbell and Thomas Jackson Campbell.
In addition to her parents Hattie was preceded in death by her husband, Ira Strode Angus, and her sisters, Verdie Lee Massie, Lettie Belle Fitzgerald, Mary Cash, and Ruth Sprouse, and her brothers, Jim Buck Campbell, Henry Campbell, Manfred Campbell, and John Campbell. Hattie is survived by her daughter; Corene Coleman and her hus-band, Clinton, of Forest, two sons; Elwood Angus and his wife, Betty, of Bedford, and James Angus and his wife, Ofelia, of Forest, a brother; William Campbell, of Lowesville, a sister; Rosetta Sprouse, of Hampton, VA, two sister in-laws; Irene Bowling, of Lynchburg, and Carleen Campbell, of Lowesville, thirteen grandchildren, twenty four great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. Hattie was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grand-mother, who was always ready to fix you something to eat when you came to visit, especially her cornbread. A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, November 16, 2007, at Forest UMC, Forest, with the Reverend Charles Langley officiating. Interment will follow in Virginia Memorial Park, in Forest. The family will receive friends from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, November 15, 2007, at Forest UMC, and at other times, at her home.
