James Brockman Jr.

James Edward Brockman, Jr. James Edward Brockman, Jr., 60, passed away on Thursday, November 8, 2012 at his home in Monroe, VA. Born on September 4, 1952 in Lynchburg, VA, he was the son of Jean Harvey Brockman and James "Buck" Edward Brockman.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Brockman is survived by his wife, Margaret Kent Brockman, and stepsons, William Thomasson and John Thomasson. He is also survived by two sisters, Sherry Brockman Mays and her husband, David E. Mays, Jr. of Amherst; and Judy Brockman Barsanti, of Duck, NC; one brother, William "Billy" S. Brockman and his wife, Wanda D. Brockman of Amherst County; six nieces, S. Kelly Mays, M. Becky Mays Fletcher and Elizabeth F Brockman, all of Amherst; Stephanie Barsanti of Duck, NC; Charlotte Waits of Birmingham, AL; and Elizabeth Follador of Virginia Beach, VA; two nephews, Jim Mays of Appomattox; and Brian Barsanti of Chapel Hill, NC; and four great-nieces, Breeley Mays, Sydney Mays, Reagan Fletcher, and Bristol Fletcher. Mr. Brockman graduated from Amherst High School and attended Central Virginia Community College and Eastern Tennessee University. He worked in the family paving and farming business and was a member of Northminster Presbyterian Church in Madison Heights, VA. Mr. Brockman was a baseball fan who also enjoyed muscle cars and farming.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, November 11th, at 2:00 PM at Northminster Presbyterian Church, with the Reverend Jeff Porter officiating. The family will receive friends following the memorial service at the church.
