HURT Edith Leigh Talbott Keatts, 72, formerly of Hurt, died Friday, March 26, 2010, at Chatham Health and Rehab Center. Born April 19, 1937, in Pittsylvania County, she was a daughter of the late Roy S. Talbott and Clara B. Dalton Talbott.

She was predeceased by her husband, Cecil Keatts, a sister, Loutricia Wonner, and a stepson, David Keatts.

Mrs. Keatts was a member of Motley Baptist Church, where she was the former pianist, and was the owner-operator of Edith Keatts bookkeeping and tax service. She enjoyed cross stitching and gardening.

She is survived by a son, Quentin (Buck) Andrews, of Gretna; a daughter, Jennifer Keatts Arnold, of Maine; a brother, Felix Wonner, of Asheboro, N.C.; three sisters, Joan T. Farmer, of Gretna, Janet Matherly, of Leesburg, Fla., and Patricia Hammock, of Danville; four grandchildren, Candice, Codie, Joey and Samantha; three stepsons, Carroll Keatts, of Gretna, Cecil Keatts Jr., of Hurt, and Leroy Keatts, of Hurt; seven great-grandchildren; a number of step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted at 3 p.m. Sunday, March 28, 2010, at Colbert-Moran Chapel by Pastor Mitch Etheridge and Dr. Charles O'Roark. Burial will follow in Green Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service Sunday (from 2 to 3 p.m.) at Colbert-Moran Funeral Home and other times will be at the residence of her sister, Joan Farmer, 708 Henry St., Gretna.

We will all miss Edith. She touched all of our hearts in a special way! Her love for flowers and her animals brought a smile to my face everytime I would stop to talk with her! RIP.
