Johnnie Lovelace

Mr. Johnnie Lovelace, of 6025 Brookneal Highway, Gladys, passed Wednesday, Sept. 8, 2010, at Lynchburg Health and Rehab Center.

Born Sept. 17, 1922, in Pittsylvania County, he was the son of the late George Lovelace and Mrs. Etheleen Graves Lovelace.

He was a retired employee from Lynchburg Foundry and was a member of the Staunton Baptist Church.

Mr. Lovelace is survived by his wife, Della Lovelace, of the residence; five children, Johnnie William Lovelace (Diann), of Gladys, Barbara Jackson, of Lilburn, Ga., Sandra Fay (Kent), of Rustburg, Kathy Jukes (Anthony), of Stone Mt., Ga., and Randy Lovelace, of Gladys; five stepchildren, James Robert Morgan (Bonnie), of Brookneal, Joyce Johnson (Paul), of Washington, D.C., Donnie Morgan (Mary), of Lynchburg, Milton Morgan (Janice), of Chevy Chase, Md., and Rodney Morgan, of Orlando, Fla.; three brothers, Perley and Robert Lovelace, of Gladys, and Dennis Lovelace, of Lynchburg; one sister, Elizabeth Roach, of New Jersey; and a host of other relatives.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 16, 2010, at Staunton Baptist Church by Dr. P. A. Medley. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The body will lie in state one hour prior to the service on Thursday.

Miller Funeral Home, Gretna, is in charge of the arrangements.
