Nancy Jane Cunningham Watson

Nancy Jane Cunningham Watson, 92,of Morgantown, W.Va. passed away Sunday, Jan. 9, 2011. She had been living at Westminster Canterbury in Lynchburg for the last year.

She was born in Mannington, W.Va., Nov. 14, 1918, the daughter of the late Albert and Elsie Davis Cunningham.

She was a graduate of Bowling Green Kentucky Business School and worked for Fairmont Supply in Fairmont, W.V. before her marriage. She later worked for West Virginia University in the Foreign Student Office. She traveled extensively throughout the world with her husband during his tenure with the U.S. Government.

She was active in Service League and Wesley United Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Leighton G. Watson and three of her four sisters; Ethel Eishenbaugh, Alice Leake, and Eleanor Bradley.

She is survived by her daughters Joy Lamb and her husband Skip, of Lynchburg, and Carol Gezon and her husband Bruce, of Murrysville, Penn. She has four grandchildren, Tristan Gezon Morales and her husband Bryan, of New York City, Kirstin Skaar Fendig and Erik Skaar, of Charlottesville and Christopher Gezon, of Springdale, Utah. Her surviving sister is Mary Jo Eichelberger and her husband Tom, of Sarasota, Fla.

A memorial service will be held 11 a.m., Friday, Jan. 21, 2011, at Grace Memorial Episcopal Church, 1021 New Hampshire Ave. Lynchburg with the Rev. Catharine Montgomery officiating.
