Ruth Clair Obituary

Ruth Ann Hussey Clair

Ruth Ann Hussey Clair, 91, of Lynchburg passed away Wednesday, June 1, 2011. She was the loving wife of the late George J. Clair for 40 years.

Born Sept. 7, 1919, in Paterson, N.J. she was the daughter of the late Leonard Hussey and Lillian Secker Hussey. In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded in death by two sons, George Clair and Kevin Clair.

Ruth was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother who enjoyed cooking and caring for her family. She loved to Ballroom Dance, especially with her partner Nicholas D'Argenzio. She was an accomplished artist whose wonderful paintings will be enjoyed for generations to come. Her great curiosity for life and her quest for understanding inspired everyone around her. She was and is a role model for many. She was a member of Unity in The Seven Hills Church.

She leaves to cherish her memory two children Barbara Ann Clair, of Forest and John Leonard Clair and wife, Susan, of Oakland, N.J. five grandchildren, John Clair, Tracy Clair, Ann Clair, Justin Aruck and Luke Aruck; three great grand-

children, Elizabeth Stern, Joey Clair, and Victoria Clair; a son-in-law, Michael Aruck; and many other relatives and friends.

The family would like to thank Rev. Nancy Purcell and friend Linda Webb for all of their kindness, love and support.

A celebration of Ruth's life will be held 1 p.m. Sunday, June 5, 2011, at Unity in The Seven Hills Church with Rev. Nancy Purcell officiating. A reception will follow the service at the church.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in memory of Ruth Clair to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Central Virginia Chapter, 4200 Innslake Drive, Suite 301, Glen Allen, VA 23060.

Ruth was a ray of sunshine. She was such a positive person. She always thought young and was such a cool person. I know her and Nick are dancing together in heaven.
