Clinton Arrington Obituary

Clinton Julius Arrington

AMHERST Clinton Julius Arrington, 83, died Monday, Aug. 30, 2010, at his residence. He was the husband of the late Theora Iseman Arrington.

Born Sept. 19, 1926, in Amherst County, he was a son of the late John Lucas and Christine Lawhorne Arrington. He was a member of Blue Ridge Baptist Church and a U. S. Navy veteran of World War II.

He is survived by a son, Larry Arrington, and wife, Kellie, of Amherst; five daughters, Betty A. Evans and husband, Ronnie, of Amherst, Susan A. Parks and husband, Bob, of Suffolk, Debbie A. Campbell and husband, Randy, of Amherst, Laura A. Campbell and husband, Frankie, of Amherst, and Tina Robbins, of Lynchburg, four sisters, Thelma Pomeroy, Rovina Campbell, Madeline DeChant and husband, Harold, and Alice Martin, all of Amherst; 11 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Cecil and Melvin Arrington, and two sisters, Lorrene Beasley and Marie Andrews.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. today, Sept. 1, 2010, at the Blue Ridge Baptist Church, with the Rev. Allan Monfils and the Rev. Bob Parks officiating. Burial will follow in the Amherst Cemetery with military honors by the American Legion Post #16 of Lynchburg.

father's death. I know how much you will miss him, but you have the
comfort of knowing you will all be together again. I remember him as
a very sweet man who always had something funny to say. You are
all a wonderful testiment to his love for the Lord and for each one of

We were so sorry to hear about Clint's death. He was such a sweet good man and certainly touched the lives of so many people. I know you will all miss him but I hope you can find comfort in knowing he is now in heaven with others who loved him so much. I can only imagine the smiles as they greeted him.
