Donald Hering Obituary
AMHERST Donald Edward Hering, 85, died Monday, Nov. 1, 2010, at Lynchburg General Hospital. He was predeceased by his wife, Teresa LaRue Hering.
Born June 17, 1925, in Michigan, son of the late Edward and Mabel Gardner Hering. He was a retired railway conductor for the Grand Trunk Railroad.
He attended Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church in Amherst.
He is survived by one son, Geoffrey Hering, and wife, Sheryl, of Port Huron, Mich.; three daughters, Mary Akinson and husband, Bill, of Port Huron, Mich., Laura Jensen and husband, Mike, of St. Clairs Shores, Mich., and Elizabeth Hesson and husband, Ronnie Jr., of Amherst; and nine grandchildren.
Services will be private.
Driskill Funeral Chapel of Amherst is in charge of arrangements.
