Cecil Glenwood Holt

Cecil Glenwood (Glen) Holt, 78, of Sugar Hill Road, Brookneal, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 28, 2010, at his home.

Mr. Holt was born in Campbell County on Feb. 19, 1932, son of the late Cecil Martin Holt and Helen Midkiff Holt. He was a member of Falling River Baptist Church, where he served as church organist for many years, and a farmer.

He is survived by two sisters, Geraldine H. Harper and husband, Herbert, of Lynchburg, and Doris H. Claybrook, of Keysville; two nieces, Brenda E. Davidson, of Brookneal, and Sari C. Goff, of Keysville; one nephew, Randall W. Claybrook, of Keysville; seven great-nieces and nephews; five great-great nieces and nephews; and Glen's Boys, Buzzie Anderson, of Evington, John Speight, of Forest, Toby Baker, of Gladys, Jeff Salmons, of Virginia Beach, and David Stevens, of Goode.

A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 2, 2010, at Falling River Baptist Church by the Rev. Keith Williams with interment to follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends following the service in the church fellowship hall.
