John Marvin

Mason

John Marvin Mason, 81, of Wickliffe Rd., Brookneal, passed away Monday, Nov. 22, 2010, at his home. He was the husband of Carolyn Slate Mason.

Mr. Mason was born in Campbell County, Jul. 16, 1929, a son of the late John Mack Mason and Kate Ingram Mason. He was a member of Falling River Baptist Church and a farmer.

In addition to his wife he is survived by one son, John C. Mason (Nancy), of Brookneal; two daughters, Nancy M. Enoch (Al), of Norfolk, Lisa M. Witteman (Mark), of Huntsville, AL; four grandchildren, William Denton (Debbie) of Raleigh, N.C., Sheri Guthrie (David), Matthew Mason (Michelle) and Benjamin Mason all of Brookneal; one great-grandchild, Olivia Denton.

A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 24, 2010, at Falling River Baptist Church by the Rev. Keith Williams with interment to follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the residence.

Memorial contributions may be made to Falling River Baptist Church Cemetery Fund or Hospice of the Hills, Lynchburg.

Henderson Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Brookneal is in charge of arrangements.

i am so sorry i missed the funeral. i have enjoyed my visits with buck and john at the livestock market for years. i will keep you in my prayers because i know how much you will miss him
