Kenneth Jordan Obituary
Kenneth Watkins (Dickie) Jordan Sr., passed away Monday, Nov. 2, 2010, at Lynchburg General Hospital. He was the husband of Nancy Godsey Jordan.
Mr. Jordan was born in Halifax County on Sept. 23, 1937, a son of the late Whitt Jordan and Mamie Bomar Jordan. He was a member of Brookneal Baptist Church, the Brookneal Odd Fellows Lodge and a retired employee of the Bibb Co.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Kenneth W. Jordan Jr. and wife, Gaye, of Rustburg, and Charles L. Jordan and wife, Mollie, of Brookneal; one daughter, Sandra Gayle Jordan, of Brookneal; six grandchildren, Jeff Jordan and wife, Allison, of Rustburg, Toni Bryant and husband, Jeremy, of Concord, Michael Irby, Brandon Irby, Justin Irby and Jessica Riley, all of Brookneal; three great-grandchildren, Colt Bryant, Nicholas Jordan and Khloe Vaughan; one brother, Heywood Jordan, and wife, Charlotte, of Nathalie; and a number of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by four brothers and four sisters.
A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 4, 2010, at Brookneal Baptist Church by the Rev. Douglas Saunders with interment to follow in Wickliffe Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m. today, Nov. 3, 2010, at Henderson Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Brookneal, and at the residence other times.

I'm so sorry I just heard of Dickie's passing. I grew up just a street over from the Jordan house. Kenneth and I grew up together and I have fond memories of the Jordan family. I just wanted to let you know you are in my thoughts and prayers.

Thinking of you all and sad to hear we lost a beloved member of our Brookneal Baptist family. Dickie will be missed as I could count on him being on the back corner pew each and every Sunday and giving me a hard time about something! The family will be in our thoughts and prayers.
