Mildred Wirt Obituary
Mildred Rebecca Wirt, 95, of Wirt Lane, Phenix, passed away Sunday,
Oct. 24, 2010, at Brithaven Nursing Home in Keysville.
Miss Wirt was born in Charlotte County, a daughter of the late Louis J. Wirt and Dollie Childress Wirt. She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church and a retired employee of Burlington Industries.
She is survived by a brother-in-law, John H. Floyd, of Phenix; a niece, Wanda Floyd, of Summerville, S.C.; two grand-nephews, Lt. Kirk Engler USN (Lynn), of Suffolk, Dr. John Engler, M. D., of New York, N.Y.; great-grand-nephew and -niece, Carter Engler and Vivian Engler, of Suffolk; and four cousins, Judy Oakley and Lois Melton, of Durham, N.C., L. J. Hamlett, of Phenix, and Clay Wirt, of Myrtle Beach, S.C.
A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 26, 2010, at Bethel Baptist Church, by the Rev. Neil Seward, with interment to follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. today, Oct. 25, 2010, at Henderson Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Brookneal.

Mildred and I enjoyed many happy occasions eating out and hundreds of laughs in the past few years. She represented my roots in Virginia. I loved her dearly. Clay Wirt, son of Milton Wirt and grandson of Clayburn Wirt, a close brother of Mildred's dad.

Mildred was a treasured relative. Our Kansas family visited her several times and were always delighted to be with her.She will be in our memories.

Mildred was a distant cousin and I spent many hours at her home as she and mom did at ours years ago. She was a wonderful person. May you keep her memories alive by sharing with each other.
