Geneva Huff Obituary

Geneva Mae Cassidy Huff

Geneva Mae Cassidy Huff, 77, of Gretna, and formerly of Huddleston, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 21, 2010, at her residence. She was born Thursday, April 13, 1933, in Bedford County, a daughter of the late Oscar Cassidy and Bessie Myrtle Tuck Cassidy.

She was also preceded in death by her husband, Major Howard Huff Sr.

Surviving are two daughters, Beulah Mae Roach, of Huddleston, and Joann Roach, of Gretna; two sons, Major H. Huff Jr. and Albert J. Huff, both of Gretna; four sisters, Sarah Cassidy, of Roanoke, Peggy Cassidy and Margaret Cassidy, both of Moneta, and Mary Ayers, of Gretna; three brothers, Sam Cassidy, of Roanoke, Charlie Cassidy and Flavius Cassidy, both of Moneta; five grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 24, 2010, at the graveside at the Tuck Family Cemetery, Moneta. Friends may call after noon Thursday, Sept. 23, 2010, and the family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. at Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Huddleston.
