CONNER CRAIG Obituary

Connor Ryan Craig

Connor Ryan Craig, 7, of Shipman, accompanied the Lord to Heaven on Saturday, Nov. 27, 2010.

Connor was born July 18, 2003, in Augusta County, a son of Frank Andrew Craig and Maria Dawn Lee Craig.

He was preceded in death by his cousin, Malena Jade Lee.

In addition to his parents Connor is survived by his brothers, Jesse Tyler Craig and Nathan Lee Craig of Shipman; his maternal grandparents, Kenneth Wayne Lee Sr. and Joanne Frank Lee, of Afton; his paternal grandparents, Clarence Robert Craig and Anna Stratton Craig, of Shipman; his uncle Kenneth Wayne Lee Jr. and wife Angie and their children Savannah and Addison, of Strasburg; his aunt Karen Lee, of Fairfax; his uncle Clarence R. "Sprue" Craig, III and his children Alvin T. Craig and wife Crystal, of Temperance and Jennifer L. Craig, of Lynchburg; his aunt Jane Baker and husband Larry and their children Justin and Katie, of Strasburg; his aunt Elaine Hallstrom and husband Henry and their children Johannah and Joseph, of Lynchburg; and his cousins, Stephanie, Dakota, Anna, Megan, Mackenzie, and Haley Craig, of Temperance.

Connor was a second grade student at Rockfish River Elementary School who brightened all with his radiant, contagious smile and who had an immeasurable love for his brothers. He learned every day from his brothers, and his quick wit and mastery of humor at a young age gave him an amazing ability to make friends. He loved and excelled at soccer, basketball, and little league baseball, and he could throw a football like there's no tomorrow.

A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 2, 2010, at Rodes United Methodist Church with the Revs. Richard McDowell and Clyde Mawyer officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, Dec.1, 2010, at Rodes United Methodist Church, 286 Avon Road, Afton, Va.

Memorial contributions may be made in Connor's memory to Rockfish River Elementary School Playground Fund, Attn.: Nita Hughes, 200 Chapel Hollow Road, Afton, Va. 22920 or Rodes United Methodist Church Cemetery Fund, 286 Avon Road, Afton, Va. 22920.

“He who has faith has... an inward reservoir of courage, hope, confidence, calmness, and assuring trust that all will come out well - even though to the world it may appear to come out most badly.” may god bless this little "man" who passed through my life for only a matter of a few minutes. Those few minutes, I shall carry forever. Its my prayers that God will help this family cope and someday understand his reasoning. Travis L. Karicofe, Flight Paramedic PHI AirCare 5, Weyers Cave Virginia.
