Doris Thacker Obituary

Doris Davis Thacker

Doris Davis Thacker, 59, of Madison Heights, passed away, Wednesday, Jan. 5, 2011, at Lynchburg General Hospital. She is survived by her husband, Jimmy B. Thacker.

Born in Amherst County, Dec. 30, 1951, she was a daughter of the late Leonard Woodrow Davis and Rena Martin Davis. She was retired from Liberty University and was a member of Clifford Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four sisters, Betty L. Mays, Shirley F. Fears, Eleanor M. Davis and Mary D. Evans.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by one daughter, Jennifer A. Fagan and her husband, Scott, of Fairfax; three brothers and special sisters in law, James L. Davis and his wife, Ann, of Piney River, Joe F. Davis and his wife, Carolyn, of Lynchburg and Raymond T. Davis and his wife, Hope, of Madison Heights; one sister, Patsy D. Huffman, of Lynchburg; two grandchildren, Addison Fagan and Taylor Fagan and a number of nieces, nephews and other extended family members.

A funeral service will be conducted at 7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 7, 2010, at Whitten Monelison Chapel with Dr. Michael Fitzgerald officiating.

The family will receive friends following the service until 8:30 p.m.

In lieu of flowers the family request memorial contributions be made to Clifford Baptist Church or the American Cancer Society.
