Phillip Lawrence (Larry) Blondino

Phillip Lawrence (Larry) Blondino, 64, of Monroe, passed away Friday, Oct. 29, 2010. He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Cathy Hudson Blondino.

Born July 17, 1946, at Guggenheimer Hospital in Lynchburg, he was a son of the late Ross and Carolene Thorpe Blondino. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Frank Ross "Pete" Blondino.

Mr. Blondino was retired from the Intermet Archer Creek Foundry after 27 years of service. He was a member of Randolph Memorial Baptist Church and of Woodmen of the World. He loved his family and his church family.

Survivors also include his brother, Eddie "Dick" Blondino and wife, Delores, of Madison Heights; a sister, Lynn Laughlin and husband, Jimmy, of Monroe; sisters-in-law, Martha Blondino, of Monroe, and Marilyn Peterson and husband, Tommy, of Chesterfield; his aunt, Mildred Stilfield, of Chase City; two uncles, Frank Thorpe and wife, Teresa, of Saxe, and Willie Blondino, of Norfolk; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

While there is no scheduled visitation, Mr. Blondino may be viewed at Whitten Monelison Chapel from 1 to 7 p.m. today,

Oct. 31, 2010.

A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 1, 2010, at Briarwood Memorial Gardens by the Rev. Dr. Derik Hamby.

Flowers are welcome, and memorial contributions may be made to Randolph Memorial Baptist Church, Monelison Volunteer Fire and Rescue Squad or to Centra Hospice.
