Drene Hawkins Obituary
Drene Iseman Hawkins, 63, of Lynchburg, died Monday, Sept. 20, 2010. She was the loving wife of Thomas Spencer Hawkins.
Drene was born March 1, 1947, in Amherst County, a daughter of the late Woodford Cleveland Iseman and the late Eva Ashley Iseman. Drene was a devoted homemaker and a member of Wesleyan United Methodist Church.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Penny Hawkins Fisher, and her husband, Steve, of Lynchburg; two brothers, Kinkle B. Iseman, of Lynchburg, and Zan Iseman, of Madison Heights; three sisters, Juanita Price, of Amherst, Arlene Horton, of Lynchburg, and Diano Taliaferro, of Madison Heights; and two grandchildren, Jasmine Renee and Spencer Lee Fisher.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Woodrow Iseman.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today, Sept. 22, 2010, at Tharp Funeral Home in Lynchburg and all other times at her residence, 1103 Dearing St., Lynchburg. A reception will be held at 6 p.m. Friday, Sept. 24, 2010, at Langhorne Chapel on Leesville Road in Evington.
Memorials may be made in Drene's memory to the Disabled American Veterans, P.O. Box 14301, Cincinnati, OH 45250.

Tom and Peeny I am so sorry to hear of your loss. The few times that I meet Irene she seemed to me to be a very fun loving person. I think I will always remember the times I was invited for Thanksgiving. HOW THAT WOMAN COULD COOK!

Tommy & Penny,so very sorry for your loss.But Drene was a beautiful person.Oh what a fighter she was.She loved life and her family with all she had.Take confort in knowing she is in a better place,holding GODS hand and singing his phrases.We will miss her dearly.Heaven is a beautiful place,we will see her again.Our love to all.

Tommy, Penny, and family - Dad (Pete Wood) called me last night to let us know of Drene's passing. Pete, Edna, Darrell and I are remembering Drene and all of the memories. We have you all in our prayers.
