Floyd KANODE Obituary
Floyd Easley Kanode, 89, of Lynchburg, died Saturday, Dec. 13, 2008. He was preceded by his wife, Gladys Akers Kanode.
Mr. Kanode was born Oct. 7, 1919, in Giles County, a son of the late Floyd Preston Kanode and Lucy Mason Edholl Kanode. He was a retired calibration technician for General Electric for 35 years.
Mr. Kanode is survived by three sons, Calvin E. Kanode, of Virginia Beach, Ward D. Kanode and his wife, Paxine, and Glen F. Kanode and his wife, Tanalea, all of Rustburg; five grandchildren, Tracy, Troy, Beth, Tammy and Heather; and six great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 16, 2008, at Tharp Funeral Home, Lynchburg. A graveside service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 17, 2008, in Fort Hill Memorial Park, with the Rev. Kenneth Lawhorne officiating.
The family would like to thank the West Wing at Lynchburg Health and Rehabilitation Center for the love and care they gave their father.
