Hilda Adams Farrar

Hilda Adams Farrar, 82, died Tuesday, Jan. 11, 2011, at Lynchburg General Hospital.

Born Oct. 14, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Martha R. Godsey and Bernard Paul Denton.

Twice married, she was first married to the late William (Dick) Adams Jr., and was the widow of Elmo S. Farrar.

She was predeceased by a son, Michael Samuel Adams, a grandson, Thomas W. Foley, and her sisters, Vivian Franklin and Coleen Shupe.

She is survived by her daughters, Patsy Creasy and her fianc‚, Mitch Franklin, and Betty Smith and husband, Dean, her son, Ron Adams and wife, Debi, 8 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, Jan. 13, 2011, from 7 to 9 p.m. at Tharp Funeral Home, Lynchburg, and at other times at the home of Betty and Dean Smith, 7100 Peachtree Road, Lynchburg, VA 24502. A celebration of her life will be conducted on Friday, Jan. 14, 2011, at 2 p.m. at Tharp Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the National Kidney Foundation of VA, Inc., 2261 Mattaponi Drive NW, Roanoke, VA, 24017.
