Allen Ferguson Obituary

Allen Tucker Ferguson

Allen Tucker Ferguson, 79, of Old Gristmill Road, Appomattox, died Friday, Nov. 5, 2010, at Lynchburg General Hospital. He was the husband of Ruby Booth Ferguson.

Born in Appomattox County on May 5, 1931, he was a son of the late Wade Hampton and Tressie Martin Ferguson. Tucker was a member of New Hope Baptist Church, the American Legion Post

# 104, and the Appomattox Moose Lodge. He served in the U.S. Marines during the Korean War and was a retired sausage maker for Diner Bell Meat Products.

Tucker is survived by six nieces, Pat Trimyer, Christine Cyrus, Sharon Lepore, Judy Branham, Gail Pry, and Jane Merrick, a nephew, Jimmie Metts, a sister-in-law, Marvis Ferguson, and a caretaker, Mary Elliott.

He was preceded in death by four brothers and one sister.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. today, Nov. 7, 2010, at New Hope Baptist Church, with the Rev. Ronnie Rodgers officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church, and at other times at the residence.
