Amy Elizabeth Robertson Pillow

Amy Elizabeth Robertson Pillow, 98, of 2260 Grit Road, Hurt died Monday, October 25, 2010 at her home. She was the wife of the late Robert Louis Pillow.

She was born August 27, 1912 in Pittsylvania County, a daughter of the late Green Robertson and Nannie Plymale Robertson. She was a member of Monte Vista Baptist Church and a homemaker and babysitter.

She is survived by one daughter, Sallie Eades and her husband J. T. of Hurt; eight grandchildren, Angela Martin and her husband Randy, Donna Rakes and her husband Charlie, Bryant Pickeral and Tammy, Boyd Pickeral, Thomas Eades and his wife Ann, Justin Eades and his wife Diane, Blaine Eades, and Elizabeth Creasey and her husband Donnie; fourteen great-grandchildren, Tracy, Phillip, Trevor, Ashley, Lindsey, Davin, Alex, J. T., IV, Donovan, Grace, Josh, Caroline, Jackson, and Meredith; one daughter-in-law, Sylvia K. Pickeral of Rustburg. Amy was granny to the many children she cared for in her home.

She was preceded in death by a son, Ellison Pickeral and four sisters, Myrtle Dalton, Cora Gordon, Sally Johnson and Pearl Barker.

A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, October 28, 2010 at Monte Vista Baptist Church by the Rev. Daryl White and Rev. Latta Terry with interment to follow in Gretna Burial Park.

The family will receive friends from 2-4:00 p.m. and 7-8:30 p.m., Wednesday at Finch and Finch Funeral and Cremation Service, Altavista and other times at the residence.
