Barbara Crawley Jones

Barbara Crawley Jones, 72, of Little Cub Rd., Appomattox, died Monday, Nov. 15, 2010, at her residence.

Born in Lynchburg, on Feb. 26, 1938, she was a daughter of the late Frederick James and Elizabeth Mae Pryor Crawley. Barbara was a retired companion sitter for the sick and had a great compassion for people and a love of animals.

She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Donna and Chris Tolley of Appomattox; a son and daughter-in-law, D. R. and Kelly Jones of Rustburg; a sister, Shirley PerDieu; a brother and sister-in-law, Ted and Judy Crawley all of Lynchburg; five grandchildren, Kristin Lakes and husband, Jeremy, Patrick Tolley, Derek Jones, Hunter Mayo, and Bransen Jones; a dear friend, Evelyn Ferguson; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family wishes to express their appreciation to Dr. Cecilia MacCallum for her loving care of Barbara.

A memorial service will be held 5 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 17, 2010 at Robinson Funeral Home by the Rev. Mark Grooms. The family will receive friends at the funeral home following the service until 7 p.m.

In lieu of flowers the family request that memorials be made to Lynchburg Humane Society, 3305 Naval Reserve Rd., Lynchburg, VA 24501 or the Cancer Patient Care Fund, c/o Centra Health Foundation, 1920 Atherholt Rd., Lynchburg, VA 24501.
