Bessie Ruth Jones

Mrs. Bessie Ruth Jones, 84, of Brookneal, died Sunday, Jan. 2, 2011, in Lynchburg. She was the wife of the late Bob Lee Jones.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Betty Jean Thomas; one great-grandchild, Trenton; one brother, Clarence

Jones, Sr., and two sisters, Lizzie "Shorty" Jones and Maude Jones.

She is survived by her children, David M. Jones (Joanie) of Culpeper, Lisa J. Hailey (Eddie) of Gladys, and Jim Jones (Hallie) of Louisville, Ky.; five grandchildren; one great- grandchild; one sister, Carolyn Francis (Woody) of Nathalie; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 5, 2011, at the chapel of Jeffress Funeral Home and Cremation Service, with interment in Childrey Baptist Church Cemetery in Nathalie. The family will receive friends from 7 to

8 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 4, 2011, at the funeral home.
