Betty Tucker Obituary

Betty Brown Tucker

Betty Brown Tucker, 72, of Lynchburg, died January 5, 2011, at Lynchburg General Hospital. For 53 years, she was the loving wife of Ronald (Ronnie) T. Tucker.

Born in Lynchburg, on August 25, 1938, she was a daughter of the late Julia Stinson and Joseph Swithin Brown. Betty was a 1956 graduate of E. C. Glass High School, and was the office manager for Dr. James Culclasure, Endondontist for 20 years. She was a member of South View United Methodist Church, an avid line dancer with groups at the Altavista Y, Timberlake Dancers @ the Moose and Fairview Recreation Center, and was a lifetime member of the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority, Laureate Alpha Chapter.

In addition to her husband, Betty is survived by a son, David Scott Tucker, and Dr. Leslie Layne, of Gladys; a daughter, Gina Ellen Tucker, of Lynchburg; a brother, George C. (Hobo) Brown and wife, Virginia, of Rustburg; four sisters, Cecil B. (Skeet) Snyder, Vivian A. (Peepsie) Brown, both of Lynchburg, Joyce B. Pillow, and husband, Willis, of Forest, Judith B. Krause, and husband, Jack, of Boynton Beach, Fla.; and many other loved nieces nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by a sister Hazel Brown.

A visitation will be held today, January 7, 2011, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Robinson Funeral Home and other times at her residence.

A graveside service will be held 11 a.m., Saturday, Jan., 8, 2011, in Springhill cemetery by the Rev. Phil Showers.
