CARTER CLEMENT Obituary
Carter Clement
Mr. Carter Clement, 87, of Marietta, Ga., formerly of Lynchburg, passed away Friday, Dec. 3, 2010.
Mr. Clement was a WW II veteran, having served in the 4th Armored Division of the U.S. Army. Landing in France on D-Day, he served through the liberation of Europe. After the war, he joined the U.S. Air Force until retirement. During his service, he earned the Purple Heart, Bronze Star, and a Presidential Unit Citation. After retiring from the military, he worked for the U.S. Post Office in Lynchburg. Mr. Clement was predeceased by parents, Giles and Dorothy Clement; sister, Hilda Taylor (Travis), and a brother, Jerry Clement. He is survived by his wife, Winifred "Win" Clement, son, John Clement (Crystal), and a daughter, Judy Schroeder (Guy).
A private service and burial will be held at a later date at Arlington National Cemetery. Online condolences may be placed at www.hmpatterson
