Clara Jean Langhorne

Clara Jean Langhorne (Mudd, Clara Belle), 59, of 7705 Virginia Byway, Bedford, died Saturday, Sept. 25, 2010, at Roanoke Memorial Hospital. She was born Jan. 18, 1951, to the late Charlie Langhorne and Virginia Langhorne Nelms.

In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by two brothers, Kenneth Langhorne and William Nelms, and a sister, Virginia Ellen Langhorne.

She accepted Christ at an early age and joined Bold Branch Baptist Church. She was a faithful soldier of the Lord as an usher at Psalm 95 Worship Center until her death. She was employed by the Elks National Home for many years.

She is survived by one sister, Kathrine L. Jones; four brothers, Charlie (Mary) Langhorne, Leonard and Leon Langhorne and Douglas (Sharon) Nelms; and a host of nieces, nephews, loving family members and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 30, 2010, at Bold Branch Baptist Church, Bedford. Interment will follow in the old Bold Branch Baptist Church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 29, 2010, at the funeral home.
