George Jennings Obituary

George Lewis Jennings Jr.

George Lewis Jennings Jr., 68, son of the late Agnes and George L. Jennings Sr., was sweetly called to join his heavenly Father on Monday, Sept. 27, 2010, in Bloomfield, Conn.

He was also preceded in death by his brother, Dr. Charles L. Jennings.

He leaves to cherish his memories three sons, Kota Andrews Sr. (Lisa), of Atlanta, Ga., Todd Jennings, of Windsor, Conn., and George Jennings III, (Wandy), of Charlotte, N.C.; one daughter, Candice Hogan, of Manchester, Conn.; eight sisters, Mary E. Jennings and Agnes J. Martin, both of Hartford, Conn., Catherine McLennon, of Bloomfield, Conn., Joyce J. Ford (Louis), of Hebron, Conn., Brenda J. Grant, of Lynchburg, Cheryl J. Spence, of Chesapeake, Sheena J. Walker (Vinson), of Birmingham, Ala., and Zebia J. Nelson (Garrett), of Ellicott City, Md.; four brothers, Joseph L. Jennings (Val), of Windsor, Conn., Thomas E. Jennings (Lynn), of New Britain, Conn., Henry C. and Kerfort D. Jennings, both of Lynchburg; two aunts, Clara McCoy and Sue Williams, both of Lynchburg; two grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

A celebration of life will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, Oct. 4, 2010, at Davis-Turner Funeral Service, with the Rev. Barbara Gills Massey as eulogist. Interment will be in the Fort Hill Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the residence of Brenda J. Grant.
