Inez Randolph Batten Pulley

Inez Randolph Batten Pulley, 89, of Virginia Beach, died Monday, Sept. 13, 2010. She was the widow of Richard H. Pulley Jr.

Born in Princess Anne County on April 18, 1921, she was the daughter of the late Amos Otto Batten and Ethel Lawrence Batten. She was a member of Virginia Beach Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) and a former volunteer with the American Cancer Society.

She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Richard and Virginia Pulley, of Forest, and David and Deborah Pulley, of Virginia Beach; six grandchildren, Victoria (Joe) Wilkinson, William (Kelly) Joyner, Ann Batten Pulley, Catherine Inez (Youness) Acharkouk, Richard H. Pulley IV (Michael Midgette) and David Randolph Pulley Jr. (Lindsey); and five great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, Sept. 17, 2010, in Forest Lawn Cemetery, Norfolk by the Rev. Ann B. Pulley. The family will receive friends from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 16, 2010, at H. D. Oliver Funeral Apartments, 2002 Laskin Road, Virginia Beach.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may take the form of contributions to Bedford Relay For Life, c/o the American Cancer Society, 2316 Atherholt Road, Suite 108, Lynchburg, VA 24501.

Heritage Funeral Service and Crematory, (434) 239-2405, is assisting with local arrangements.
