James Randolph Vaughter (Duke)

James Randolph Vaughter (Duke) went home to the eternal resting Friday, Oct. 15, 2010, at his residence. Randolph was born Oct. 29, 1937, to the late Deacon James Vaughter and Deaconess Lottie J. Vaughter.

Randolph was also preceded in death by one brother, David L. Vaughter, and a daughter, Patricia Revely.

Randolph was a member of the Scott Zion Baptist Church. He was a very quiet, kindhearted and giving person. He served in the United States Army. He worked with his father as a carpenter until his health failed.

Randolph is survived by one son, James Vaughter Jr. (Shenal), of Madison Heights; a stepdaughter, Debra Jackson, of Lynchburg; two brothers, Haywood E. Vaughter (Virginia) of Maryland, and Frank Vaughter, of Madison Heights; one sister-in-law, Barbara Vaughter, of Madison Heights; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts, relatives and friends; and a devoted friend, Gladys Alexander.

A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 20,2010, at Scott Zion Baptist Church, Galts Mill Road, Madison Heights. The Rev. Gary Lee officiating, the Rev. Russell Lee eulogist. Interment will be in the church cemetery. His remains will lie in state at the church one hour prior to the service. The cortege will assemble at the church.

To the family and friends of James Vaughter, I send my deepest sympathy and Condolence. If I remember correctly, James join the Marine Corp, which inspired me to want join. I have very fond memories of the Vaughter and Jackson families.
Live is but a Test on this Earth, we were created but to worship our LORD AND CREATOR, there no other god but Him. From God we come, to Him we must return. I pray that God Blessings be with him and grant him paradise. Amen
