Coyle "Becky"

Libbie Elizabeth Smith Coyle, 69, of Lowesville, departed this life Tuesday, Nov. 30, 2010, at Lynchburg General Hospital. Born in Amherst, Sept. 27, 1941, she was a daughter of Ethel Canada Smith and the late George W. Smith. She was preceded in death by her husband, Obie Coyle on Dec. 7, 2006.

Libbie was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her "boys" were her pride and joy. She enjoyed traveling, watching sports games and spending time with her family.

She leaves to cherish her memory her beloved mother, Ethel Smith of Lowesville; her son, Gary Coyle of Amherst; her beloved grandson whom she raised as a son, Marcus Coyle (Patricia), of Eagan, Minnesota; 4 daughters, Viola Coyle and Fonda Coyle, both of Lowesville, Vernita Gaines (Kelvin), of Amherst and Lorinda Coyle (Ronald Lee), of Charlottesville; 2 brothers, George Smith (Hester), of Amherst and James Smith, of Lowesville; 2 sisters, Eleanor Campbell, of Amherst and Mahalia Smith, of Madison Heights; a brother-in-law, Lloyd Coyle. of Newark, N.J.; 3 sisters-in-law, Corrine Jones, of Newark, N.J. , Irene Coyle and Zora Brown, both of Madison Heights; 11 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, and other loving relatives and friends.

Funeral service will be conducted 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 5, 2010, at St. Mary's Baptist Church in Lowesville . The Rev. J.L. Sandidge will be officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Friends may call at Byrum-Parr Funeral Home from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday. The body will also lie in state for 1 hour at the church prior to the service.
