LILLIAN SAVAGE Obituary

Lillian Elizabeth Franklin Higginbotham Savage

Mrs. Savage of Charlotte, NC died peacefully on Thursday October 20, 2010. She was 94 years old.

She was born in Buckingham Virginia, a daughter of the late James and Lillian Franklin. She was a retired sales associate with JC Penny and a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Charlotte. Until 1993 Lillian resided in Lynchburg VA. with her late husband Joseph H. Higginbotham Jr., where she was an active member of Rivermont Avenue Baptist Church. In 1994 she moved to Charlotte where she married Joe D. Savage Sr.

She is survived by a son, J. Henry Higginbotham III of Charlotte (Judy), and a daughter, Joyce H. Figg of Powhatan, VA.(Ron); 5 grandchildren, Beth Everson (Mike) of Matthews, NC, Jay Higginbotham (Nicole), and Jennie Higginbotham, of Charlotte, Wayne Figg (Wendy) of Middlothian, VA., and Amy Harrell (Brian) of Mosley, VA.; and 9 great grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at Grace United Methodist Church 737 East Woodlawn Rd, Charlotte, NC 28209 at 7:00 PM on Friday, October 22, 2010 with Reverend Ron Perry, officiating. Visitation will follow the service in the fellowship hall.

A graveside service will be held in Lynchburg VA., at Fort Hill Memorial Park on Saturday, October 23, at 12:00 noon. Those wishing to make memorials should consider Grace United Methodist Church, 737 East Woodlawn Rd. Charlotte, NC 28209 or a charity of your choice.
