Lloyd Haynes Obituary
Lloyd Edward Haynes Sr., 71, of 384 Stinnett Road, Amherst, departed this life Thursday, Nov. 4, 2010, at his residence. He was born to the late Victor and Mabel Haynes.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Margie Harris, five brothers and one sister.
He leaves to mourn, his devoted and loving wife of 49 years, Juanita D. Haynes; two daughters, Carolyn Rucker, of Amherst, and Vanessa Haynes, of Madison Heights; one son, Lloyd Haynes Jr. (Josephine); one son-in-law, Calvin Harris, all of Amherst; 11 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Vercinia and Doris Douglas and Louise Richardson, all of Amherst; one godson, Jeff Sorrells, of North Carolina; and a host of other relatives and friends.
A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday, Nov. 8, 2010, at Piney Hill Baptist Church, Allwood, with the Rev. Donald Rucker officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery. His remains will lie in state at the church one hour prior to the service. The family is receiving friends and the cortege will assemble at the residence.
