Dear Emily, Irvin and I are sorry for the loss of your mother. As you know, we were going through the same thing almost a year ago with Mother. Your mom and Pauline were such good friends and had so many wonderful times at the Virginian. I just know there was a joyful reunion in heaven on Tuesday. We offer our sympathy with Christian love. No matter how young or old, it is difficult to lose a parent.

I will always remember Mildred's smile and our conversations about her childhood memories growing up on "the farm" with my mom and their other cousins. I'm glad to be part of her family. My thoughts and prayers are with you at this time. Much love.

Emily,
I knew immediately who your Mom was when I saw the obituary in today's paper. I remember so well the days at Oak Hill, you and your Mom. Those were some really great days and I have very fond memories of her and her kindness. Will be thinking about you and your family. God Bless you at this time and keep the love light burning. Sincerely, Rita "Huff" Cothran

I have the fondest memories of Mildred. She was a joy to work with when she was a Head Resident at Lynchburg College and truly a dear friend. She was always fun to be around and showed a positive attitude toward life no matter what circumstances she faced.I just loved her and feel honored that she was a part of my life.
