Minnie Brown Obituary

Minnie B. Brown

Minnie B. Brown, 90, formerly of Rustburg, died Friday, Nov. 19, 2010, at Medical Care Center in Lynchburg. She was first married to the late Clarence A. Bailey Jr. and then to the late Albert S. Brown.

She was born Aug. 21, 1920, in Danville, a daughter of the late William D. Brown and Ella Britton Brown. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Concord and a retired employee of Thomasville Furniture Company.

She is survived by one daughter, Kay Bailey Pease, and her husband, Dwayne, of Massachusetts; four sons, Clarence Bailey III and his wife, Ann, of Appomattox, Keith Bailey and his wife, Sandy, of New York, Ricci Brown and Dale Brown and his wife, Emily, all of Lynchburg; and 15 grandchildren and 20 great- grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two brothers and four sisters.

A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday, Nov. 22, 2010, at Finch & Finch Chapel, Altavista, by the Rev. Frank Casper and Rev. Mike Brown, with interment to follow in Mountain View Cemetery, Danville.

The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. today, Nov. 21, 2010, at Finch & Finch Funeral and Cremation Service, Altavista.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that those wishing to make memorials please consider the Alzheimer's Association, P.O. Box 823, Lynchburg, VA 24505.
