RAYMOND JONES Obituary

Raymond William Jones

Raymond William Jones, 75, of Amherst, departed this life Tuesday, Nov. 30, 2010 at his residence. Born in Lowesville, July 4, 1935, he was a son of the late George Jones and Ola Coyle Jones.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Raymond "Tootsie" Jones.

He leaves to cherish his memories his beloved wife of 40 years, Erma Blanche Jones; sons, James Edward Jones and Thomas Roosevelt Jones (Luann), both of Amherst; a daughter, Patricia Diane Canada (Kenneth Kirby) of Amherst; a brother, Eddie Jones of Buena Vista; a sister, Lourene Massie of Amherst; 3 grandchildren, Tonya, Kenya and Austin, and a host of nieces, nephews and other loving relatives and friends.

Funeral service will be conducted 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 4, 2010, at St. Mary's Baptist Church with the Rev. J.L. Sandidge officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The body will lie in state 1 hour at the church prior to the service. There will be no viewing or visitation at the funeral home. Byrum-Parr Funeral Home is serving the family.
