Ruth Smith Obituary
APPOMATTOX - Carrie Ruth Banton Smith, 82, died Wednesday, April 25, 2007, in The Carrington. She was the wife of the late Grover C. Smith Jr.
Born in the Hollywood community of Appomattox County, April 20, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Charles Richard and Lena Ann Smoot Banton. She was a member of Grace Hills Baptist Church.
She is survived by a brother, Elmo P. Banton of Mechanicsville; a sister-in-law, Rose Marcum and her husband, Albert L. Marcum, of Roanoke, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 28, 2007, at Robinson Funeral Home, by the Rev. Wes Williams. Burial will follow in Hollywood Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, P.O. Box 823, Lynchburg, VA 24505.
