Mary N. Faris

Mary N. Faris Mary N. Faris, age 94 of Bristow, Virginia died Sunday, September 26, 2010 at her residence.

Mrs. Faris was born December 11, 1915 in Bramwell, West Virginia, daughter of the late Edward Kyle and Theodocia Mae (Barber) Wilkinson. She was a resident of Manassas for 55 years and was retired from F.W. Woolworth. She was a member of St. Mark's United Methodist Church, Manassas; a volunteer with SERVE for many years and loved her family and friends and was always helping others.

She was also preceded in death by her husband, William Bernard Faris.

Survivors include three children, Margaret Gallihugh and husband William, Patricia Alpaugh and husband Kenneth and Bernardene Posey and husband Nathan; three brothers, Robert Wilkinson, Bernard Wilkinson and Willard Wilkinson; nine grandchildren, Billy, Larry, Jeffrey, Kenny and Jimmy Gallihugh, Alicia Edwards, Jennifer Harris, Kevin Posey and Pastor Brian Posey; 23 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00 P.M. Wednesday, September 29, 2010 at Pierce Funeral Home, 9609 Center Street, Manassas. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm Thursday at St. Mark's United Methodist Church, 7803 Well Street, Manassas with Rev. Jim Johnson and Pastor Brian Posey officiating. Interment will follow at Stonewall Memory Gardens, Manassas.

In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to St. Mark's United Methodist Church, 7803 Well Street, Manassas, Virginia 20111 or Capital Hospice, 10530 Linden Lake Plaza, Manassas, Virginia 20109 in loving memory of Mary N. Faris.
