Richard Fitzgerald Obituary
Richard was preceded in death by his parents, Paul H. and Sallie Virginia (Lawhorne) Fitzgerald; his first wife, Brenda J. Key Fitzgerald; one son, Matthew Fitzgerald; one brother, Paul Steven Fitzgerald and one sister, Mamie Breadon.
Survivors include his loving wife of 11 years, Mary Jane Fitzgerald; one daughter, Heidi Sizemore and husband, Jeffrey of Stuarts Draft, Virginia; two step-children, Jonathan Zimmer of Manassas, Virginia and Jennifer Stepp and husband, Scottie of Charlottesville; five siblings, Marion Eadie, Shirley Collins, Ralph Fitzgerald, Virginia Terry, and Barbara Lee Merchant and four grandchildren, Zachary Sizemore, Emily Sizemore, Benjamin Sizemore and Luke Sizemore and four step-grandchildren, Aaron Zimmer, Casey Gentry, Megan Gentry and Zoe Zimmer.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, September 27, 2010 at Pierce Funeral Home, 9609 Center Street, Manassas where funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, September 28, 2010. Interment will follow at Fairfax Memorial Park, Fairfax, Virginia. Condolences may be sent to www.piercefh.com.

My deepest condolences. I dont know you or Richard, but if I am not mistaken, I was working at PW Hospital when his son had come in back in 92 or 94 I believe.
I hope your pain is absorbed by the great memories and good times Im sure you all had together.

Heidi,
My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. This was a total shock to me as with you I'm sure. I just ran into your dad a few weeks ago at the Sheetz in Bealton. This is a sad time and I'm sorry!

Uncle Richard was such an amazing man, who did so much for my family. He had to endure losing his son and then his wife, my Aunt Brenda. God then blessed him with a second amazing wife, Mary, who loved him more than he could have ever hoped for. And my cousin Heidi, his beautiful daughter, who gave him many grandchildren to love and cherish. Although it hurts to let him go, Heaven is truly blessed to have my Uncle Richard as a new angel.
