Our beloved father is in the presence of his savior as of October 2, 2010. He was preceded in death by his wife Jean. He served in the United States Navy during WWII. Sam was a deacon emeritus for many years at Triangle Baptist Church in Triangle ,VA. And was a current member of the Spotswood Baptist Church in Spotsylvania, VA. He was a member of Ironworker Local #5 Union for more than 50 years .

Sam was a beloved father and grandfather and his sweet smile and blue eyes will be missed greatly by his survivors; which include, daughter Carol Bray and grandson Rob of Knoxville, TN., daughter Darlene Rodeheaver and husband Larry, of Elk Creek, VA. and grand children Angela, Justin, and Travis; and son Sam Parker Jr. and wife Sue, and grandsons Joshua, Jason and Jonathan. Sam also had four great grandsons, Parker, Landon, Tanner, and Trevor. He also leaves behind and wonderful Christian friend, Jean Vanderpool.

Viewing will be at Mountcastle Turch Funeral Home in Dale City on Thursday October 7, at 6:00 to 8:00 pm. A graveside service will be held at Quantico National Cemetery on Friday October 8, at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers a donation to Spotswood Baptist Church Building Fund or Triangle Baptist Church.

Carol and family, I have very fond memories of your Dad as he took my son Eddie Hartman fishing many times. He was a good man and will be missed. My prayers are with you.
