I'm sorry for the Mitcho family's loss. Seth was an RA in my dorm first year at UVa and I had taken a dance class with his sister. Seth was always very kind and warmhearted. I too am sorry to hear of his struggle and passing.

I can't find the right words to express how incredibly sad I am to hear about Seth's passing. I met him when we were both in Adam and Julie Lake's wedding party, and although we only stayed in touch through email I always considered him a friend, and always appreciated what a positive, caring person he was. I truly regret not being able to be at his funeral, but I'm thinking of Seth today with love.

There were no words to express how wonderful Seth was. When I read the words above it really struck a cord with me....it is so true...his intelligence and charm made him an instant friend....and so much more. We have lost a great mind, great friend and great lover of all mankind. I will miss him greatly. As a friend at UVA and the remaining years, I will always carry him with me.

I pray for your healing and support. Although I didn't know Seth, my heart goes out to the psychological and physical pain he must have endured in battling anorexia. Sara, you are a wonderful person and a woman of graciousness, and Seth was blessed to have you in his life.

Jeanne, Joe, Sara and all the others,
I am truly saddened by Seth's death. What a tragic loss for you - and all the others who loved him, of whom there were many. Seth was a remarkable young man. I always loved seeing him, though those visits were not frequent enough in recent years. He was thoughtful, brilliant, kind and generous. Unfortunately, he was not able to beat that demon, anorexia. I hope you are comforted by the knowledge that you did everything you could to help him.
Unfortunately, I'm unable to attend the services for Seth this week. I'm in Umbria, Italy, not far from Assisi. In fact, on the day that Seth died, we were in the Basilica of San Francesco there. It wasn't until later in the evening that I learned from Lauren of his passing. Yesterday, I lit a candle for Seth in the chapel of the Franciscan convent, La Scarzuola, founded by St. Frances in 1218. The convent marks the site where St. Frances built a hut in the forest and "planted a bush of bay and roses and caused a spring to gush forth." A mass was said for Seth this morning in the church.
With deepest condolences-
Nicholas Mitcho
