David Guthrie Perrell

PERRELL - David Guthrie, 92, of Huntington Station on February 29, 2016. Beloved husband of the late Josephine for 62 years. Loving and devoted father of Leslie (David Cunningham), Paula Crowe (William) and Pamela. Devoted grandfather to Karim, Billy, Anna, Michelle and Juliet. Proud great-grandfather to Kayla and Samantha. The son of John and Gwendolyn Perrell, David was raised in Garden City, NY and received his BS ('49) in marketing from Hofstra University on Long Island. A member of the Greatest Generation, David bravely served in the Army as a Master Sergeant in WWII. For over thirty years, he travelled extensively in his role as an import executive in the apparel business, pioneering business opportunities throughout the Far East, South East Asia and Central America. His most recent position was VP, Capital Mercury Manufacturing in NYC after having built his career at Montgomery Ward. He was devoted to his family, and enjoyed reading, the theater, and was a loyal fan to USC, the Giants (football and baseball), as a proud season ticket holder since they played at the Polo Grounds.
