Tracy L. Smith

SMITH - Tracy L., passed away peacefully, in his home, on October 17, 2015 with his loving wife, Mary and devoted son Tracy. Tracy was sadly predeceased by his beloved daughter Kelly, beloved son Trevor, beloved grandson Dylan, his beloved brother Larry, beloved eldest sister, Arlene as well as his loving parents, Isabel and Fred Smith. He is survived by his eldest loving brother, Fred Smith. Tracy served his country in the U.S. Merchant Marines. He also served the Nassau County Police Department for twenty-eight years; retiring as a Deputy Chief in 1989. Tracy was the owner of the Merrick Flower Shoppe from 1989 until his passing for 31 years. He received the honor of Merchant of the Year for his dedication, service and caring for the people of Merrick. His family will be receiving friends at DeFriest-Grattan Funeral Home, 13805 Main Road, Mattituck, NY 11952 on Sunday, October 25th, 2015 from 2-5 and 7-9 P.M. A Funeral Mass will follow on Monday, October 26th, 2015 at 10 A.M. at Our Lady of Ostrabrama R.C. Church in Cutchogue. www.defriestgrattan.com.
