Joan Arlene WILSON

WILSON - Joan Arlene of Hackettstown, NJ. formerly of Garden City, NY, passed away Jan. 17, 2013 at the age of 77. Born in Mineola, NY to Edward and Theresa Karsch. Joan worked for Bell Atlantic after graduating from Sewanhaka High School in Elmont, NY. She took a leave to stay home with her 4 children. Reentered the work force working for the Garden City Public School District, first in their administrative department and then at Straford Ave School, as a secretary. A career change led her to Verizon where she worked as an operator until her retirement. Joan had an infectious smile and celebrated life devoted to her family, traveled the world with friends, she was an avid gardener and enjoyed various outdoor activities. She is survived by her beloved children Karen Stadtlander (Tom), William (Kathleen), Bonnie Martin (Bill), and Deborah Putnam (Matt), and 10 loving grandchildren. She is also survived by her siblings Edward, Robert and Dorothy Pedersn. Visitation will be at the Hugh M.
