ARENT - Arthur, (96), of Franklin Square, NY went home to be with the Lord on February 12, 2013 at his daughter's home in NJ. He was born to Adolph and Wanda (Malik) Arent of Ridgewood, NY, March 23,1917 He married Ruth Griesmer, on June 5, 1938, in Glendale, NY. Ruth predeceased him on January 22, 2007. He is survived by his sons Russell Arent, Alva, FL, Gordon Arent, Griswold, CT, and his daughter Peggy Minarcik, Marlboro, NJ, and by 11 grandchildren, and 20 great grandchildren. Arthur lived on Long Island most of his life, working in banking, at Republic Aviation, and serving in the US army during WWII. He then began his own Painting & Decorating business in 1949, working in Nassau County until his retirement in 1982. Arthur and Ruth were charter members of St. Andrew's Lutheran Church, West Hempstead, NY where they worshiped regularly. He was a loving and giving father, who liked nothing better than to help his family. We will mis him dearly. Arthur did what was right in the eyes of the Lord! A Memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family in April, on Long Island.
