ELIZABETH J. STEPHENSON

STEPHENSON Elizabeth J. (Merrill), wife of Ellsworth N. "Steve" Stephenson of Plymouth, MA, died at the Life Care Center of Plymouth on Dec. 24, 2015. She was 82. Born in Haverhill, MA, she was the daughter of the late Clarence and Eva (Cronk) Merrill, Sr. Raised in Salem NH, she was a 1951 graduate of Salem High School. She graduated from Westminster College and received a master's degree in guidance from Hofstra University. Mrs. Stephenson worked as a teacher and guidance counselor in Babylon, NY where she lived for over 56 years. She was a longtime member of Babylon United Methodist Church. In addition to her husband, she leaves 2 sons, David M. Stephenson and his wife Michelle of Taunton and Scott D. Stephenson and his wife Lori of Plymouth; and 3 grandchildren, Victoria, Olivia and Daniel. She was also the sister of the late Clarence Merrill, Jr. and Frank Merrill. Calling Hours will be held at the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Taunton, MA on Tuesday, Dec. 29th from 5 to 7 p.m. A Prayer Service will commence at 6:45 p.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family.
