He was quick with a joke and always made everybody feel right at home. As children, we loved going over to Baba and Pop's each and every weekend. We spent the day swimming in the pool, hanging out with our cousins and rivaling one and other for the TV remote in "The Sports Room". Once it grew dark, we would pretend to be asleep on the couch in the living room so we could spend the night. He always had our ear; telling us stories of his younger days, teasing us incessantly about our boyfriends and girlfriends and just captivating us with his presence! Pop made you fall in love with Cooperstown, even if you were not a baseball fan. There was no better feeling than driving down Quiet Lane to the house and seeing Pop sitting out front to welcome us. He is STILL there, in fact! If you need proof, go to Google Maps Street view and zoom in - he's there! Thanks for sharing the infamous Kelly chin with me and for introducing us all to Bad Joey. Rest in Peace, Pop Kelly!
