Jay, my regrets are that I did not have a chance to really know you and that you were only a part of our lives for such a short time. I thank you for the love and kindness you shared with my sister, Laura. I pray in time she will be able to feel your love without feeling the heartache of losing it. May Love and Peace go on with you.

Laura told me and I totally agree that you achieved your greatness.
Your dreams did not die with you. I know she will see that they live on forever and so will all that thought you were great.

I feel so saddened to hear about Jay's death. Even though I only talked to him twice, when he did some tree work for my sister in Wincoma and when he came to bid a job, I could tell he was special...charismatic, kind, gentle. My heart goes out to all of you who were closest to him and feel that he must be in a good place.

My husband and I was very saddened to learn about the untimely passing of Jay. Although, we only knew Jay from when he cut trees down for us on two occasions, he left an impression on us. He was very gentle and a wonderful person. He will be sorely missed.

Jay, you weren't done yet.
You were showing us how to face, confront, and yes, even embrace our demons, those that run rampant in the temporal world and those that exist deep in our psyches.
And you were teaching us to do it with humour. Man, did you know how to make us laugh. What demon could resist your wit?
You weren't done yet. We need to laugh more. There are still demons to exorcise.
We're gonna miss you, but we'll always remember you.

My husband I were really saddened to hear of Jay's death. He worked on our trees and our neighbors and even went all the way to my parent's home in Glen Cove as a favor to us. He was a just a great guy and we extend our deepest sympathies to all of his family and friends.

Jay,
Thank you for your expert work on our tree and your literary talents and contributions to us all. You will be fondly remembered by your earthly friends and those in the forests, as you climbed your way up into the heavens to rest.

I've know Jay for 14 years, ever since we've moved to Dix Hills and needed to hire a tree guy. No one was ever allowed to touch my trees after seeing the care and skill that Jay displayed in his craft. We referred him to numerous people, all with nothing but nice things to say.
A great human being, a gentle giant, who will be sorely missed. God bless and rest in peace.

Even though we came to know each other thru business, we always ended up talking about music and what was new in our lives. My heart goes out to all who knew him. A gentle soul, he will be missed.

Jayster,
I will read your book now completely. Last week you emailed me that I would read it when everyone else did, I guess it's time. I will always remember your heart Jay. Your funny soft spoken way. Your gentle face. I'll miss you. We had 32 years of a warm and wonderful friendship and I'll never forget you. I hope Laurie knows I'll be there for her. Pray for us, I am praying for you.
You were really special and I am sure God has a special place for you.
your friend always,
joycekie

Jay was an inspiration to me and encouraged me with writing my poetry. The day you visited my classroom and read to my students made such a difference to them.We still listen to your CD, and the words bring on smiles to all who hear it. You were always there for people with your kindness and friendship. You will be missed dearly by me and all who knew you. I believe you are in a better place now and at peace. God Bless you.
