KUKURA - Kaiya Caitlin, died suddenly on August 16, 2011, forever sweet 16. Kaiya is the beloved daughter of Donna and Joseph Kukura. Devoted sister of Kasha Kukura and Janette Ruddy, sister-in-law of Chris Ruddy. Cherished granddaughter of Teresa Kukura. Predeceased by her Nannie (grandmother) Katherine Boothe. Predeceased by her grandfathers, Thomas Boothe and Michael O. Kukura. Adored niece of James and Sabrie Boothe, Shawn and Nicole Boothe, Maryanne Langone; great niece of Eileen Catalo, Patsy and Tom Colonna and Peggy Howard-Brady. Predeceased by her uncles, Brian Boothe and Tommy Boothe. She is the proud Aunt of Riley Ruddy and Andrew (AJ) Ruddy and her angel nephew, baby Jack Ruddy. Kaiya will be greatly missed by all her cousins, especially, Lori, Francesca and Anthony Langone, Owen, Connor and Brianna Boothe. Kaiya's passion on this earth was music, a student at McGann-Mercy High School, involved in many organizations inthe community and found great joy in helping others. Kaiya lived each day with confidence in God's love and knew that what matters in life is "not great deeds but great love." Kaiya brought joy and love to each of her family and friends and made a difference in so many lives during her short lifetime; she is forever in our hearts and will be greatly missed by all. Arrangements entrusted to the Ruland Funeral Home, (S. of LIE Ext 63) 500 N. Ocean Ave., Patchogue NY. Family to receive friends on Thursday and Friday from 2-4pm & 7-9pm. Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday at 9:30am from St. John the Evangelist RC Church in Center Moriches, NY. Interment to follow in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Coram, NY. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Kaiya Kukura Memorial Scholarship Fund, PO Box 46, Shirley, NY 11967.
