FOY - Muriel, 92, a long-time resident of Oakdale, died Wednesday, November 28. Survivors include her daughter Elizabeth Casey and partner Alberta Galdi, sons Charles Foy and wife Angela Scalpello and William Foy and wife Anna Bojarczuk-Foy, and grandchildren Meghan, Kristin, Matthew, Teresa and husband Peter, Christina, Julia, David and Thomas. She was pre-deceased by her daughter Margaret and granddaughter Emma. Long-time librarian at Chippewa Elementary School, Muriel volunteered there after retirement. A member of Women in Black Peace Movement, she was also honored by South Country Peace Group. A talented gardener, opera buff and lover of Shakespeare, Muriel was known for her generosity, warmth, strong opinions and dedication to social justice. Reposing Friday 2-4:30 & 7-9pm at Clayton Funeral Home, Inc. 25 Meadow Rd. (cor. of Indian Head Rd.) Kings Park. A religious service will take place Saturday 8:45am at the funeral home. Interment toollow at Cypress Hills Cemetery, Brooklyn. Donations may be made to Doctors without Borders.
