Stanley Friedenberg Obituary

FRIEDENBERG - Hon. Stanley (ret.) died on October 9, 2011 at the age of 92. Born in New York to Charles and Dorothy Friedenberg. Stanley was a graduate of New York University Law School and during WWII served as a counter intelligence officer both in the United States and Europe. He was a partner in the CPA firm of Kurz and Kurz and the law firm of Kurz, Dick and Friedenberg. After 25 years he retired from both practices and remained a solo practitioner up into his 90's. He served as Village Justice for the Village of Old Westbury for nine years retiring in 1985. He was active in the Bar Association of Nassau County, the New York State Magistrates Association and The New York State Society of CPA's. Stanley was a special man and those who knew him treasured his company and his wise counsel. Devoted husband of Hon. Marilyn (ret.) his partner of sixty years. Beloved father of Ellen Cammer and Robert Friedenberg, son-in-law Martin Cammer and daughter-inlaw JoEllen Friedenberg. Grandfather ofJacob, Rosie, Julie, Sam and Harry. Survived by his sisterVivian Gluck and his brother Dr. Richard Friedenberg. A memorial service will be held at Guttermans Funeral Home in Woodbury on Wednesday October 12, 2011 at 3 pm. Remembrances may be made to Nassau County Bar Association's "We Care" Fund, www.nassaubar.org
